We took the 211 bus to the Esplanade Bus Station, there we change to the 78 bus to go to UWA. On The way, my friend told me that in Australia everything calm and relaxed, that normally nothing happens.
We arrived at the University at 9am. We walked towards the main hall and I saw some small pool with fishes in them and some beautiful trees. We were walking and talking when he said me: “Come to this way”. We passed under a huge yellow tree when suddenly, 5 seconds after, we heard a loud noise. It was like many fireworks exploding behind us. Without thinking, we started to run away.
Well, the yellow tree that we had walked under had broken, and a poor man was stuck exactly under it in the middle. He yelled in laughing voice; “my arm.. my arm.. is broken”. “It hurts.. It hurts”, and he lay down on the ground.
Many people, mainly students, helped him. Somebody gave him a cellphone and called his wife and said: “I’ve had an accident at UWA, some students are helping me and I ‘m hurt”. Urgently somebody called emergency. We waited for 5 minutes because we were very concerned about what would happen to him, but the ambulance had not come, so we decided to go into the main library.
We went into the library and my housemate showed me some sections of the building, the computer lab, book sections and other things. Twenty minutes later went out of the building and saw the man still on the ground. I thought he was not a lucky guy because medical help had not arrived.
